My last GPS had the compass so I don't know how much different the functionality would be without it. Seems the main feature differences are the compass and barometer.

I am planning an extended trip to the four corners region next month and will need to bring a computer to add/remove tracks/routes due to the 60CSX limitation of 20 tracks/1000 waypoints. West Marine currently has the Garmin GPSMAP 78 on sale for 199 and the Garmin GPSMAP 78SC on sale for 349. If I download BaseCamp to the Win 10 laptop, will my existing MapSource waypoints, tracks and maps be recognized and transferrable to my GPS?

I have read that Basecamp is not very user intuitive compared to MapSourceвЂ¦ Due to the age of my Vista laptop, the time has come to transfer my maps, waypoints, tracks and routes to a new Windows 10 laptop. I realize Garmin scrapped MapSource in favor of BaseCamp several years ago. Then, I transfer the Tracks and Waypoints to the 60CSX. I like to pre-plan trip hikes by creating Tracks (and sometimes Routes) using MapSource software.
